Understanding your hormones & learning how to feel like yourself again
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause - a normal, physiological shift that can begin as early as your mid-30s.
During this time, changes in estrogen and progesterone can influence nearly every system in the body: mood, sleep, metabolism, cognition, and even how we handle stress.
For many women, it’s the first time their usual routines stop working the way they used to. You might notice energy changes, emotional ups and downs, or physical symptoms that feel unfamiliar.
Understanding what’s happening hormonally allows you to take an active role in this next phase — so you can feel like yourself again, with the right support behind you.
How Naturopathic care can help
Perimenopause is a window of change that deserves care — not dismissal.
As a Naturopathic Doctor and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, I help women understand what’s happening hormonally and create realistic, evidence-based plans that support mood, energy, and long-term health.
Together, we explore your symptoms and goals through the lens of my five lifestyle pillars:
EAT, MOVE, THINK, REST, and CONNECT.
These are the foundations of overall health. They often just need small, intentional adjustments to better support you during this stage of life.
When appropriate, we build on these foundations through:
Strategic supplementation — targeted, evidence-informed nutrients chosen to support your specific concerns in perimenopause, such as sleep, cognition, bone health, and energy. These tools complement your existing habits, helping you maintain strength, focus, and resilience as you age.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) — when indicated, we discuss the benefits, risks, and timing of therapy to help you make confident, informed decisions. As a prescriber, I provide guidance and individualized plans that align with your health history and long-term goals.
This comprehensive approach addresses how you feel day-to-day while also supporting your health and vitality well into the years beyond menopause.
Common Reasons Women Seek Care
Fatigue and mood changes
Brain fog and difficulty focusing
Night sweats or disrupted sleep
Changes in weight, metabolism, or muscle mass
Irregular or heavier periods
Vaginal dryness or low libido
Why Support Matters
Perimenopause isn’t just a shift in hormones — it’s a pivotal stage for your long-term health.
How you support yourself now can shape how you think, feel, and age in the years ahead. By understanding these changes early, we can take steps that protect your heart, strengthen your bones, and maintain your cognitive health — while also helping you feel more like yourself today.
You only get one life. Make sure you’re spending your time, energy, and resources on things that make sense — things that actually support your health, your goals, and your ability to enjoy your life for years to come.
What to Expect
Your first step is a free 15-minute meet-and-greet a chance to ask questions, learn what to expect from naturopathic care, and see if we’re the right fit.
If you choose to move forward, your care typically includes:
-
A full review of your health history, current symptoms, and goals.
-
Together we will come up with the starting point of a plan that suits your current & future goals. Every plan will include lifestyle recommendations, while we will strategically decide what supplementation and hormone therapy makes sense for you. You are an active participant in the plan we create!
We may also discuss bloodwork needs, and referrals to other health care providers.
-
Follow-up schedule will depend on individual patient needs and the plan we have created. For most patients, they can expect to have a minimum of 4 appointments per year depending on individual goals and needs. Book a meet and greet to learn more
