Kate Friesen, RP (Qualifying)

Kate believes that meaningful change begins with compassion—for ourselves and the experiences that shape us. She aims to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges and work toward balance and fulfillment. Her approach is holistic and collaborative, recognizing that emotional well-being is deeply connected to physical, social, and spiritual health.

Kate has experience supporting individuals in a clinical hospital acute setting, working with people facing trauma, mood disorders, emotional distress, and life transitions. This experience has strengthened her ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and helps her approach therapy with insight, patience, and practical strategies that meet clients where they are. She also has training in neurodiversity and experience supporting clients with ADHD and autism, which informs her strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach.

Kate supports clients with a variety of experiences, including:

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Mood disorders, depression, and anxiety

  • ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Burnout and life transitions

  • Emotion regulation and distress tolerance

Kate is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her dog, attending yoga classes, exploring new coffee shops and restaurants, spending time outdoors, and reading.
