Why I Became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner
Why I Became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner

Truly, I fell into perimenopause and menopause care, but I’m so happy I did.
After completing my examinations to have extended prescribing rights in Ontario as a naturopathic doctor (which also allowed me to prescribe Hormone Therapy), I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship to pursue certification as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (this is a reminder to everyone to put your name in for scholarships!!)
This training gave me advanced, up to date, evidence-based education on perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy. But more than that, it gave me the tools to show up even better for my patients during one of the most misunderstood and under-supported stages of life.
I’ve always been passionate about hormone health. As a young person I didn’t fully understand periods or hormones at all - so much so that when I first got my period I calculated how many days would be impacted (thinking I would live until 85 years old and not realizing your period stopped during menopause).
Now, supporting patients through PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, and menopause is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.
What I love most is helping patients choose themselves during this time.
To choose feeling good.
To choose understanding what’s going on in their body.
To choose the path that feels right for them — whether that’s lifestyle-based support, supplements, medications like HRT, or a thoughtful combination.
Menopause shouldn’t be something we just "put up with." And you don’t need to figure it out alone. Through this certification, I’m able to collaborate more closely with medical providers, prescribe when appropriate, and guide patients with confidence and clarity.
Whether you're just starting to feel "off" in your late 30s or deep into post-menopause and unsure if you have options — you do. Education is power, and you deserve support that helps you feel like yourself again.
If you’re curious about what’s possible, let’s talk.
I’m Dr. Madeleine Clark, ND and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. I help women feel like themselves again through evidence-based, personalized support at every hormonal stage.
