Syndey Hillis, Occupational Theraphy
Sydney is a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy student at the University of Toronto, completing her clinical placement at Crafted Balance Clinic. She is passionate about helping individuals engage in meaningful everyday activities and believes healthcare should be collaborative, compassionate and individualized.
Sydney developed an early appreciation for movement, and the role meaningful activities play in health and wellbeing. She has always enjoyed staying active, exploring new hobbies, and understanding how participation shapes overall health. These interests inspired her to pursue occupational therapy.
Her clinical approach is rooted in seeing the whole person and recognizing how physical, emotional, cognitive and environmental factors influence participation in everyday life. She believes meaningful change begins with understanding each individual’s unique goals and strengths. By combining evidence-informed practice and collaborative problem-solving she works with clients to build confidence and overcome barriers. Sydney is passionate about empowering individuals to reconnect with the activities that help them feel like themselves with greater confidence and ease.
Throughout her training, Sydney has gained experience in physical rehabilitation and mental health, strengthening her appreciation for the interconnected nature of wellbeing. She values creating a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel heard and empowered and enjoys working alongside individuals to develop practical strategies that promote independence, balance and long-term participation. Sydney is excited to continue learning from the team at Crafted Balance Clinic while supporting clients through a holistic, client-centred approach to occupational therapy.
Outside of the clinic, Sydney enjoys spending time outdoors, trying her best to watercolor paint, and travelling.
